FAQS/Investment

What is the investment cost?

Weddings: My couples usually budget for $3800-$4200 for full day coverage. There are lots of options to consider so please, for a more detailed overview of investments fees for weddings, or if a full day isn’t what you need please contact me via email,  I will go into all the details with you.

Portraits: Portrait sessions are $355 which includes the best edited images (usually around 25-35) come in a downloadable, sharable gallery where you are able to order prints directly from the gallery or download and print from anywhere you choose, a print release is always included.

Cake smash sessions are $425 and are a full session only with the messy cake portion taking place the last 20 minutes of the session. This allows for another “clean” outfit to be taken first.  This includes the cake and décor- you selecting the theme. These sessions can take place in your home during the winter months or the studio located in Troy, Michigan or outdoors in the spring/summer/fall months. If you choose to provide your own cake and décor the session fee is $355.

Where do the portrait sessions take place?
Sessions take place in your home, at a park, possibilities are endless. If you have young children they may enjoy a session in their own home, where they are happy,  most comfortable, are can truly be themselves. For newborn or very young babies, I often recommend the shoot take place at your home, since everything is already there and most families are more relaxed there.

What is required to book a session?

To have your date scheduled $50 retainer is required.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellations must be made 48 hours or more prior to the portrait session.  We can then reschedule and apply your retainer to another session.  Cancellations made within 48 hours of the portrait session and “no-shows” to the session will result in the forfeiture of the retainer.

What if someone is sick on the day of the shoot?

If you or your child is sick the day of the session, please call me and let me know as early in the day as possible.  We can reschedule the session for another time.

Please check out these few helpful hints for your session to be a success!

-Choose your clothing carefully

What do your dream family photos look like?  Soft and elegant?  Chose neutral colors with soft, flowing fabrics…. think creams, very soft pastels, oatmeal’s, light browns, tans, grays, and slate blues.  Want to showcase the fun and spunky side of your family?  Choose coordinating colors (but not matchy, matchy) with bold accent colors, such as hues of gray with yellow or bright red accents.  Adding fun accessories like scarves, headbands, hats, etc. can add a modern twist and sassy flair to your images. Still not sure what to pick? I can definitely help you with some examples, just asks!

-Perfect timing

Be certain not to schedule your photo session around your child’s nap or bedtime. Don’t show up to a photo shoot on an empty stomach, be sure to give everyone a snack before the photo shoot. Also bring a few for bribery!

 -Cheeeeese- um no

Please, parents… leave the “cheese” at home. Parents who stand behind the photographer and scream, “Say cheese to the lady kids!” Yelling and demanding young children to look at the camera to smile will only stress your children out and will result in strained, unnatural and often unflattering photographs. I’ll naturally interact and talk with your children. This will result in natural, gorgeous smiles. Promise!

-Have fun with your family

Don’t be afraid to pick up your children and toss them in the air. Give your wife a sweet kiss on the check. Tell your husband how much you love him and appreciate him for being there for your family. Have fun. Laugh. Giggle. Joke. Embrace. Kiss. Snuggle. Play.    Doing these things will allow me to capture the emotion and true beauty of your family.
