940 Saturdays …

That cant be right, I never did the math but someone on Pinterest did and that number low as it seems to have surprised me.

940 Saturdays is what you get from the time your child is born until they turn 18. Those 3 digits resonated with me… MAKE THE MOMENTS COUNT. Be together, get messy, have fun, talk, talk more, ask questions, keep notes on the crazy things they say, hug, kiss a lot, play games, cook together or whatever your family does! They grow up fast – I see that just from my friends children, they drive get jobs spend time with friends and not long before they have families of their own. Yes I’m that photographer that hands down always cries at the mother son dance at the weddings I photograph. I picture my self as the mother and its all down hill after that. Even my big camera can hide my ugly cry.

All this reminded me of one of my latest sessions when Kelly contacted me for Christians 2 year session, she wanted it to be fun, him being him, in action, not stuffy, super fake smiles but real clean (messy) fun, and fun it was. She chose an ice cream theme and we even got a few maternity shots because Kelly is expecting! (Yay) You can appreciate the powerful reminder of the inevitable passage of our time as active parents by reading that number above. Remember to have fun. So Nine hundred and forty Saturdays. One of them is tomorrow. So, what are you doing this weekend? Need some ideas? Check out the links at the end of this post!

Enjoy a few images of Christians Ice cream session!

Oh Anna, you’re 2 today! When my clients children get older I feel just like I do when my little one get older- kinda sad. I remember taking Ryan & Jamie’s Maternity session, newborn session, Anna’s 6 months session, 1 year session and now she’s 2! (insert sad face here)

But this session is a bit different, Ryan’s serving nearly a year long deployment flying helicopters in Afghanistan. This is his third deployment but first as a dad.

I’m sure its not easy for Jamie to have her husband gone while taking care of things. I know its a struggle for him to be gone for many months at a time.

While Ryan is gone – just as its hard on Jamie its just as hard for Ryan- he misses the small things that others take for granted – Anna touching his face with those soft little fingers, placing her head on his chest, and just seeing those big blue eyes stare at him. I tried to not guide Anna too much during here session but just give Ryan a normal day in the life with his big 2 year old! See you this fall Ryan!

Everly… She took straight after her big brother. When I photographed Trey as a newborn, he slept straight through it and I  Everly did too! I showed up to the house and she did not disappoint. This tiny little princess didn’t even know what happened, Tom & Sheay are so sweet and I’m so grateful that they chose me again as their newborn photographer. Enjoy this sweet sleeping beauty.

If there is one thing I’m not good at – its making time to update my site/blog. I’m terrible at it, its something I know I need to schedule and I’m just not there yet. The beginning of 2016 I swore I would create time for it.  I’m a work in process… who’s not?

What better time then now to post about a great couple I’m glad to call my clients!

I remember first meeting Sheay when she was pregnant with her first Trey, she and Tom had recently moved here from Colorado and she inquired about maternity pictures. Soon after we met up at a local Starbucks and my first thought was OMG shes so cute and tiny. Sidenote: I was a monster when I was pregnant, not my behavior (well maybe)  but my belly! In my opinion, I was huge but  I digress. So back to lil Miss Sheay and her cute belly …

We planned out her Session and its been one of my faves still til this day.  Check out this cute belly!

Thankfully I’ve been able to keep in touch with Tom & Sheay -always getting  to see cute posts on family life and the new adventures of their new baby on the way. (Insert cute newborn photo taken by me)

And now takes us to the final piece to the puzzle. Baby #2. I was beyond thrilled when Sheay contacted me again for more maternity photographs. She said this will most likely be their last and she definitely wanted to document baby #2 as well! So with that I take you to  their  maternity session.

Baby Evie to be introduced in the next post!

I’m Back!!!!!!!!!!! Sad to say, its been almost a year since I’ve added a new blog post. This has always been a flaw of mine- finding to time in between shooting, editing, client meetings and family life.

This year has been a record year for me – I’ve shot wedding and portrait sessions this year than any other thus far. I’ve also seen a huge growth in new client bookings, and this is all thanks to my awesome client referrals. So with that I say a big THANK YOU to all of you!

I deeply appreciate each time I get a new inquiry and that little section that asks who referred you is completed. Time escapes me and I am sorry when I haven’t  reached out to you each time you have referred a new client to me- but that’s all changing!!!!

I’ve implemented so many new aspects to my business I can’t wait for 2016! There will definitely be some changes to sessions, locations, and new packages! I am very eager for all of my 2016 brides I’ve already booked and so happy to say I only have approx. 3-5 wedding dates left  to be booked.

But today I declare, I WILL be adding post more frequently (Don’t hold me to that) but seriously, I will definitely designate time for this!

In honor of Cyber Monday today – and for today only I have a limited amount of ….

Buy one mini session get one free! So you know what this means, you and a friend can go halfies!!!!!!! This is for today only so act fast!

Check back in the next few days for more from your girl!

Erica
